APPLICATION
Material handling accessories are used for loading and unloading AMSCO 400
Series 22" x 37.5" ( 558.8 x 952 mm) Medium Sterilizers and for transferring goods to and from processing areas.
LOADING CAR AND TRANSFER CARRIAGE
Loading car is 36" (914 mm).
All welded stainless-steel frame with modular shelves accommodates numerous load sizes and configurations.
Load retaining side gates and bearingmounted wheels are constructed of stainless steel.
Easy-to-remove side gates fit into slots along frame of the loading car.
Car wheels are flanged to fit tracks in sterilizer chamber.
Loading car shelf modules, supports and side gates are constructed of stainless steel.
Each section is welded, suitably reinforced and designed to allow free passage of steam.
Each shelf and loading car has a maximum distributed load capacity as follows:
• 36" (914 mm) car – 90 lbs (40.8 kg) per shelf,
270 lb (122.5 kg) per car
To increase productivity, shelf modules can be removed from upper shelf supports allowing tall items to be placed on lower shelves.
Three layers of loading car shelf modules, one fixed (bottom) and two adjustable, are furnished as standard.
Replacement shelves, shelf supports and side gates are available, if needed. Adjustable shelf supports and side gates
are adjustable to six heights.
Transfer Carriage
A welded tubular steel frame with height-adjustable loading car tracks are provided on the top of the transfer carriage.
The frame has a push bar handle and is supported by two normally-fixed and two swivel casters with neoprene, nonmarking, easy-rolling tires.
A revolving neoprene protective bumper is installed above each caster.
A guide assembly is positioned near floor level at the carriage end opposite the push bar.
When approaching the sterilizer the docking guide aligns with a floor dock on the sterilizer.
• If transfer carriage alignment is off-center during approach to sterilizer, caster lock disengages.
• Normally-fixed casters unlock and swivel, allowing for easier alignment of transfer carriage with sterilizer chamber.
The loading car is secured to the transfer carriage with a spring-loaded latch. A second hand operated latch secures
the carriage to sterilizer door frame while the loading car is being rolled into (or out of) the chamber.
Both latches are operated from the handle end of the carriage.
Carriage is equipped with a storage area for all shelving components.
Storage area can be used when the car is not in use, or when rearranging shelving or adjusting shelf height.
Carriage handle is stainless steel and the frame is painted for corrosion protection.
