PLEASE READ, VERY IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL AND COSMETIC CONDITION OF THIS UNIT: "Was recently removed from service at a local Federal University where it had always been very well maintained. During transport to our facility, the movers placed it between two heavy crates and when the truck moved the crates squeezed it and cracked it's outer cover as can be seen in the pictures. The mechanism, the motor and the electronic sensors did not suffer any damage whatsoever, the cover indeed is very strong and protected the heart of this unit 100%. Nevertheless it's important to note that we had to re-engineer the cover to try and make it as whole as possible again. We put it back together and glued the parts together with epoxy making it as integral as we could as can be seen in the pictures. Despite the cover still showing the cracks it shows, the unit itself never suffered any problems and does operate normally, the issue is really the cover making the new buyer aware that he may have to tweek with it so as to make the cover lid lock and use this unit to his or her satisfaction. A new cover can be purchased at about $500 new as can be seen even here on eBay and then buyer will have a perfect Operational and Cosmetic RETSCH PM 200 grinder."

THE OPERATIONAL KNOB IS NOT ORIGINAL, WAS ADAPTED BUT DOES WORK AS CAN BE WATCHED IN THE VIDEO, THIS KNOB CAN BE EASILY REPLACED IF BUYER WANTS TO, WE DID NOT THINK IT NECESSARY SINCE AGAIN IT DOES WORK.

Function Principle

The grinding jars are arranged eccentrically on the sun wheel of the planetary ball mill. The direction of movement of the sun wheel is opposite to that of the grinding jars in the ratio 1:-2.

The grinding balls in the grinding jars are subjected to superimposed rotational movements, the so-called Coriolis forces.

The difference in speeds between the balls and grinding jars produces an interaction between frictional and impact forces, which releases high dynamic energies.

The interplay between these forces produces the high and very effective degree of size reduction of the planetary ball mill
