DESCRIPTION TAKEN FROM MANUFACTURER PHILIPS:
For over 50 years Philips has been the world’s leading pioneer of ultrasound systems for the medical and health science industries. We provide solutions to the Obstetrics/Gynecology, Radiology, Surgical and Veterinary fields through an array of cutting edge medical imaging techniques. Our dedication to excellence has provided our users with the instruments they need to ensure the best quality of life for their patients.
Philips, the innovator in ultrasound is the longest operating ultrasound company in the world with its international headquarters located in the Netherlands and Tokyo, Japan and U.S. headquarters in Washington DC.
The history of Philips began in 1950s when the medical equipment department in the Netherlands.
The is Philips' latest advance in digital diagnostic ultrasound for the operating room.
Philip' ProSound technology transmits and receives noise-free signals providing diagnostic information in a pure sound field.
Philips' advanced microcircuit technology provides for large-scale integration of the electronic circuit allowing for the creation of a high-density digital front-end.
The resulting crisp and clear image contributes to more efficient and accurate examinations.
Philips’ surgical transducers suppress side lobe artifacts three-dimensionally due to high-density transducer element fabrication and beam management in the elevation direction.
This allows the fundamental ultrasound beam to be sharper and closer to the ideal beam shape than with conventional transducers.
The result is higher resolution images with substantially less artifact.
Aloka’s high density digital front end allows a wider dynamic range for superior contrast resolution.
With a 12 bit digital beamformer ultrasound images are inherently sharper and more detailed.
Five ultrasound transmission beams per piezoelectric crystal combine to display truer, less interpolated, more complete image of the desired anatomical structure.
The individual views are automatically combined, then artifact is automatically subtracted and real structures enhanced.
FEATURES
Pure Sound Transmission – superior penetration and exceptional resolution
Pixel Focus – Enables uniform beam characteristics from near to far fields
Quint Frequency Imaging – This Probe Transducer can be adjusted up to five different frequencies
Dual Dynamic Display – Simultaneous real-time display of B and B/Flow Mode images
Microspatial Compounding (for a more densely rich image)
Pixel-Focus (for sharp detail in both near and far fields)
iDMS (for hassle free image storage and retrieval).
Philips' Alpha system provides superior image quality and contrast resolution.
This is due to the product's next-generation digital front end developed by Philips researchers in the Netherlands.
Advanced microcircuit technology permits noise-free signal transmission and reception, resulting in clearer, crisper images, according to the company.
This Philips Ultrasound also conserves 40% more energy than any other competitor ultrasound system out there.
This Philips Ultrasound will feature smart functionality, including definitive tissue harmonic echo imaging (D-THE); multibeam processing, which uses a high frame rate for observing fast-moving anatomy; real-time free angular M-mode imaging (FAM); and 3D display for fetal imaging. Philips' intelligent data management system (iDMS) will store and manage digital patient data. Users are also expected to benefit from the system's simple console panel layout, high mobility, and compact design.
The main strength of Philips' technology, however, goes back to the fundamentals of routine ultrasound imaging, its improved quality of standard 2D diagnostic images.
"We hear a lot today about 3D and 4D ultrasound and specific tools, but no one is talking about resolution any more," ; "It is as if ultrasound has arrived and doesn't have any more possibilities to grow up. That just isn't true.
There is still a lot more that can be done in terms of image quality and higher resolution."
