As seen in the tag, this unit was made in 1959 and The University of Michigan bought it in June 1960 for US$ 454,00 which was a small fortune back then when the dollar was strong!
This Island came from the cafeteria of the Law School, one of the most traditional at the University of Michigan and was purchased in 1960 (made in 1959), indeed a rare unit with at least 65 years of age!!!
They don't make them like this any more!
Just the Heavy Gauge Stainless Steel used here makes us remember the Good Old USA when things didn't come from China where today Flimsy Thin Shaky Steel is king.
Stainless Steel Top Surface is Beautiful with Rounded and Elevated Corners All Around! No Stains Whatsoever. All buyer needs to do is to Easily Swipe It Clean and put it to use!!!
Each Drawer has a lock and is unlocked but we don't have the key but they can easily and cheaply be made!
Each Tray Inside Each Drawer Can Easily Be Removed So You Can Use Them To Cook As Makeshift Pans Or Making It Easy To Store Things Inside and Then Move The Tray Back Into The Drawer!!!
Comes with 4 Casters, 2 of which are locking Casters!
