This listing is for a Fisher Scientific Model 116885 Water Jacketed CO2 Incubator with digital Isotemp System Monitor. Catalog number is 116885. From a casual inspection this incubator is in very good physical condition.
We powered it up and reset the thermostat higher, which got the HEAT ON indicator to light up and the indicated temperature to start moving in the right direction. Inside the blower was working fine. Thus far that is the extent of our testing so no extended warranty can be offered.
We are not be able to check the CO2 functions.
Comes with three shelves as pictured and an AC cord.
UPDATE: We allowed it to run up to the new set point, 30.1 degrees C. It ran up to that temp and held it rock solid throughout the day despite cool outside temperatures and a constant draft. One time I saw it at 30.0 with the HEAT ON indicator flickering, so the thermostat is working properly. We also noted that the LOW H2O indicator was on. So as far as we can tell it is fully functional other than the CO2 part of the equation which remains untested.
Basically iIt is the size of a dorm-size refrigerator, pretty standard for incubators. Measures about 24.5 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 33.75 inches high on the exterior, not including the handle which adds about 1.5 inches to the depth.
Inside it is about 18.75 inches wide, 17.25 inches deep, and 28.5 inches high.
There is a drip pan included under the shelves in contact with the bottom of the incubator.
The inner door shows a small tear as can be seen in the picture, nothing that affects operation, strictly cosmetic issue. That accounts for all the cosmetic defects we noticed up close.
Shipping costs may prove to be an insurmountable barrier to sending it back, as the unit is both large and heavy. It may be wise to budget for some repairs and then be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t need any.
