With the Fisher Biotech DNA sequencing system, the narrow unit uses less buffer, minimizing reagent costs when only a few samples need to be analyzed. This unit maximizes number of samples that can be run on each gel without sacrificing the convenience of working with 14 x 17 in. (36 x 43cm) autoradiography cassettes and X-ray film. Buffer volume, 800mL. No band "smiling." An integral anodized aluminum backplate distributes heat evenly across the entire gel surface to minimize band "smiling." Also permits samples to be run in all the gel lanes without loss of data or questionable interpretation of the banding pattern. Leakproof clamping system. Screw clamps are mounted directly on the unit to ensure leakproof seal between gel sandwich and upper buffer chamber. Easy buffer disposal. Upper buffer chamber drains into a separate reservoir in unit's back. Reservoir and lower buffer chamber are easily removable for convenient buffer disposal. Includes main chamber with aluminum backplate and clamps; removable lower buffer chamber; notched glass plate (missing - not included); blank glass plate; 0.4mm thick spacer set; adhesive temperature indicator and a sharktooth comb.
