Indications:
The Hemashield Gold Knitted Microvel Double Velour Vascular Graft is indicated for use in the replacement or repair of arteries affected with aneurysmal or occlusive disease.
Contraindications:
The Hemashield Gold Knitted Microvel Double Velour Vascular Graft is not approved for use as a coronary artery replacement.
Cautions:
1. If surgical technique requires crossclamping of the graft, use atraumatic clamps.
2. It is suggested that only taper-point needles be used for suturing, as taper cut or other cutting needles may cut the graft fibers.
3. Avoid excessive tension on the prosthesis; gently extend the graft until crimps are flat.
4. Care should be taken to ligate and/or cauterize lymphatics in the groin to minimize lymphatic collection subsequent to aortofemoral or femoropopliteal reconstruction.
5. Safety and effectiveness of this product in the extra-anatomic, A-V access, and pulmonary positions, and as a patch have not
been established.
