COSMETICS ARE FINE, WE INTENTIONALLY DECIDED NOT TO POLISH THE BRASS SINCE MANY COLLECTORS COMPLAIN WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT, IT'S REALLY SO SIMPLE TO POLISH AND GET A SHINY LOOK BUT THIS UNIT LOOKS SO GREAT ANYWAY, ACTUALLY MANY COLLECTORS PREFER IT THIS WAY SINCE THEY HAVE THEIR OWN TECHNIQUES AND CHEMICALS TO POLISH VINTAGE EQUIPMENT.
Offered is a superb Zenith Trans-Oceanic H500 (1951) Serial Number 2160920, electronically and cosmetically in very good operational condition.
This is the famous transitional model H500 with release date in 1951. H500 got the technological advantage of minature tubes vs. the old Locktals of older models but it largely held onto the styling of the 1940's with it's airplane dial and swooping lines, so it was truly a bridge between yesterday and tomorrow in its day.
Often called the most handsome of all the famous Zenith Trans-Oceanic line, this H500 model sports the badge Wavemagnet on its logo.
Its appearance is fitting of royalty - it is surely an historically significant radio.
Its limited production has helped make it a favorite of collectors as well as those of us radio lovers who just know beauty when we see it.
If your collection doesn't yet include a H500, don't miss this very clean example.
Color is even, beautiful and deep. There are no musty odors. The plastic trim was cleaned but not polished, and the original clear dial cover is present.
The telescopic antenna is straight, extends fully, and pops up and latches down as it should.
Dial cords assure longevity, and even though all switches and controls have not been cleaned and lubricated, they operate smoothly and crisply.
The chassis has NOT been re-capped and nothing has been installed, it is 1000% ORIGINAL!!!
Has been IF and RF aligned for peak performance and accurate dial readout.
Tubes were tested and replaced as necessary and it plays strongly across all bands with great sensitivity, lots of volume, and beautiful tone.
As the images attest, this ZENITH H500 is very good condition for its age.

The cabinet is made out of wood and is in very good condition, has very light wear marks due to age but nothing seriously noticeable, it is in wonderful condition as you can see from the many pictures.
This radio works fine LOUD and CLEAR on ALL the waves.
All bad tubes and capacitors are changed, it even comes with 3 extra spare vacuum tubes!
The sound is typical ZENITH with warm deep basses and sprankling hightones.
Has the famous ZENITH "Oktav" speakers
The inside of the top of this cabinet works like a "bass - reflex chamber" .
Equipped with One speaker, AM Pointer, built in ferrit antenna, two thumb wheels for Power & Volume & Tuning.
Has three Wavers: Long Wave, AM, Shortwave .
Works on 110 volts and is ready to plug in and enjoy.
